Minors for Non-Music Majors
The Conservatory of Music offers several 20-unit music minors open to students who are non-music majors. Music majors may not minor in music. Music majors may earn a track in music.
Students may apply for a music minor by contacting the Conservatory’s Office of Academic Affairs. Students admitted to a music minor program are assigned a faculty advisor to direct their course of study.
Students must complete a minimum of 20 units with a minor grade point average of 2.0 to earn a minor in music.
Students pursuing a music minor must meet the prerequisites for a given course.
Tracks for Music Majors
The Conservatory of Music offers several 12-unit tracks open to music majors who seek additional study in a specific field within music. Non-music majors may not earn a track for music majors. Non-music majors may earn a minor in music.
The Conservatory of Music offers several tracks available to music majors. Tracks require a minimum of 12 units in coursework in one area of emphasis beyond coursework required in a student’s music major.
